Educating Hearts and Minds for
More than Seventy Years
Please see your child's Google Classroom for current topics and assignments.
The students' schedule is posted under Resources. Students wear their gym uniform on gym day, which is Friday. The students may not wear their gym shorts alone in class. They have to have their sweatpants over their shorts when they are not in gym class.
In order to meet the diocesan requirement of reading twenty-five books a year, the students are keeping a reading log and summarizing the books they read. An outline to help them with their summarizes is posted in their ELA Google Classroom. After the student finishes reading a book, he/she must log it on the "reading record" (also available on Google Classroom) and complete an outline of the book.
We have a subscription to Storyworks magazine. The articles can also be found online at storyworks.scholastic.com. The students can log in at the student site through Google Classroom.
The intent of the learning standards is to ensure the success of students in college and careers. The "Parent Roadmaps" link below is a good resource to explain the CC.

A Student's Prayer for a New School Year
Dear Jesus,
A new school year
has now begun
after several weeks of summer fun.
Now, as my studies
begin anew,
may I always and ever
rely on You.
Bless my teachers
and my principal, too.
Bless my classmates
in all that they do.
Open my mind
and open my heart,
so this new school year
will have a great start.
I love You, Jesus,
I truly do.
May I always,
in everything,
follow You.
Amen.
